What is included in our "Mobile App Development" service?
One codebase for iOS and Android: faster development, simpler maintenance.
Push notifications and reminders, so your customers never miss a thing.
Integration with CRM, ERP, webshop, online payments and invoicing.
Offline mode and syncing: your field team can work even without mobile coverage.
Secure login, permission management and encrypted data connections.
Publishing to the App Store and Google Play, followed by updates and further development.
When is it worth building your own mobile app?
A mobile app lives in your customers' and employees' pockets: it's one tap away, it can send push notifications, and it can do things a website can't (camera, location, offline use). Mobile app development pays for itself when the app will be used regularly and genuinely saves time or money.
Typical cases where an app makes sense:
- Customer app: appointment booking, order tracking, loyalty programmes, access to invoices and documents, notifications.
- Field staff app: work orders, photos, signatures, stocktaking or deliveries on site – even without mobile coverage, with syncing afterwards.
- A mobile companion to an existing system: your CRM, ERP or webshop data, more conveniently on mobile.
- A new digital product: your own app idea, best tested first with a smaller initial version (MVP).
If your customers would only use it occasionally, a well-built, mobile-friendly web portal or web application is often cheaper and just as effective. We'll tell you honestly during discovery.
One codebase, two platforms: iOS and Android
We build mobile apps primarily with React Native, so the same code runs on both iPhone and Android phones. That means less development time, lower cost and simpler maintenance than writing two separate apps. Where the job calls for it, we also take on native Android development (Kotlin).
Your systems behind the app
A mobile app is only as valuable as the data and features it can reach. We connect the app to your existing systems through our own backend:
- CRM, ERP, customer management – for example our CRM systems or our ERP system,
- website and webshop – with shared user accounts and data,
- online payments and invoicing – card payments and automatic invoices,
- notifications – push notifications, email and SMS (via our SimpleSMS service).
Why APPON?
- One team for everything: app, backend, admin interface, website and hosting – no need to coordinate multiple suppliers.
- We have our own products: we build mobile apps for our own services too, such as the Agendy appointment booking system, and that experience goes straight into your project.
- Building since 2011: business systems, customer portals and integrations for everyone from private healthcare providers to service companies.
- We don't stop at launch: after publishing to the App Store and Google Play, we keep supporting, updating and improving your app.
How we work
-
Discovery
We discuss who will use the app and for what, which features belong in the first version, and which existing systems it needs to connect to.
-
Specification and quote
We describe the screens, features and integrations, and give you a detailed, itemised quote and a schedule. We often start with a smaller first version (MVP).
-
UX/UI design
We show you how the app works with clickable screen designs, so changes are still easy to make before development starts.
-
Development and integrations
We build the iOS and Android app, the backend and the admin interface, and connect the external systems you need.
-
Testing and launch
We test the app on real devices, then handle publishing to the App Store and Google Play.
-
Support and further development
We keep up with new iOS and Android versions, fix bugs, and keep improving the app based on user feedback.
Eligible for EU-funded grants in Hungary
For Hungarian SMEs, developing a business mobile app can often be financed through EU-funded digitalisation programmes (for example, subsidised digitalisation loan schemes). You'll find the current opportunities on our Grants page (in Hungarian), and we'll prepare the quote you need for your application.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to develop a mobile app?
The price depends on the number of screens and features, the requirements for the backend and admin interface, and the integrations. A smaller first version (MVP) costs much less than a fully featured app, so it's often the best place to start. After discovery we give you an itemised quote.
How long does it take to build a mobile app?
A simpler app can be ready in a few weeks or a couple of months, while a more complex app with several integrations takes several months. App store review (App Store, Google Play) also takes a few days.
Native or cross-platform?
For most business apps, a cross-platform (React Native) approach offers the best value, because one codebase serves both iOS and Android. We recommend native development when the app has special hardware or performance requirements.
Do we need a mobile app or a mobile-friendly website?
If users come back regularly, or you need push notifications, offline mode or phone features (camera, location), an app is the better choice. For occasional use, a mobile-friendly web portal is often enough.
Can it connect to our existing systems?
Yes. The app connects via API to your CRM, ERP, webshop, invoicing software or other internal systems, so data never has to be entered twice.
Who publishes the app to the app stores?
We do. We prepare the store listings and handle the upload and review process. The developer accounts belong to your company, so the app is published under your name.
Have an app idea, or want to take your system mobile?
Tell us in a few sentences who would use the app and what for, and we'll show you how we'd build it.
